Full load or part load — which works out cheaper
The calculation is not only about price; time and risk count too.
If your cargo does not fill a truck you have two options, and the cheaper one is not always the better one.
Part load
Several clients' goods travel on one vehicle. The price is lower because you pay only for the space you take.
But the truck waits until it is full, and it stops at each client's address — the transit time stretches.
Full load
The vehicle carries only your goods. It runs direct, arrives sooner, and your cargo is not handled alongside anyone else's.
The price is higher, but once your goods take more than sixty per cent of the space the gap narrows.
When to take a full load
When the cargo must arrive quickly. When it is fragile or valuable — less handling is better. And when a temperature regime is required.
A practical rule
If the load runs to more than twelve pallets, ask for the full-load price. The difference is often smaller than you expect.
